PUREFILL, NATURALLY SMART
PUREFILL, NATURALLY SMART
Made from granulated cork, FieldTurf PureFill offers a long list of benefits for athletes and field owners. PureFill’s cork material is an environment friendly, non-toxic and recyclable product, offering leading resiliency, heat reduction, shock absorption and U.V. resistance to our sports systems. How’s that for an advantage?
WHY IS PUREFILL SUSTAINABLE ?
It is made from cork. This cork is harvested from a cork oak tree every nine years without harming the tree.
It is environmentally friendly and non-toxic, a real plus for playing areas prone to flooding.
HOW PUREFILL CAN HELP WITH HEAT CONCERNS ?
Cork’s low thermal conductivity means that the material naturally conducts less heat energy in comparison to traditional infill systems. Therefore, on hot and sunny days less heat is transferred within the surface, meaning a significantly cooler playing area without the need of irrigation.
WHAT ABOUT PLAYERS PERFORMANCES?
Cork’s cell membranes are extremely flexible, compressible, and elastic. This means that regardless of the pressure put on the material, it will return to its natural shape. This flexibility creates a consistency within the surface, allowing players to feel secure and confident.
Thanks to its natural light brown colour, it also provides a natural soil aesthetic to your pitch.
FieldTurf have experience installing and using our PureFill infill in FIFA and World Rugby certified systems worldwide. With over 600 fields installed since 2012, PureFill has a proven history of performance and durability. In Australia we already have multiple iconic installations that give proof that PureFill is not a concept, but reality.

ernan o'neill
hi there. can you use the cork infill on the putting green ?
FieldTurf
Hi Ernan,
Cork is not suitable for a putting green, for two reasons: 1) For the play performance of Golf, the surface needs to be quite hard, thus the closed surface and high quantity of sand infill. And 2) Cork Infill is what we call a performance infill, with big particles used in Football and Rugby fields for its cushioning properties; the opposite of what is required for Golf.
However, you can use Cork Infill in the rough and fringe areas as these are long pile grass.
Thanks,
FieldTurf Australia.
